Position Summary The Coordinator of Instruction provides leadership and assistance to the Chief Academic Officer and the department of instruction.
Qualifications:
Possess or qualify for a Virginia Postgraduate Professional license with Administration and Supervision PreK-12 endorsement preferred.
Has a minimum of five years of successful high, middle, or elementary school teaching experience.
Experience working directly with individuals and families from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Experience working with diverse learning needs and with children that may benefit from alternative learning models is preferred.
Familiarity with racial equity and inclusion frameworks.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to present to diverse audiences, specifically racially, ethnically, and socioeconomically diverse communities to foster professional relationships and express and/or exchange ideas.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to flex communication style to multiple cultural environments to improve instructional practices.
Proficiency in the use of a variety of office equipment and technology with experience using Microsoft Office, email, and information system applications.
Demonstrated leadership qualities and personal characteristics necessary for working effectively with students, teachers, administrators, and the community.
Proficiency in business English:
spelling, grammar, and spoken language.
Emotionally mature, objective, and sensitive to people and their concerns.
Able to handle responsibility, work independently, and maintain collaborative working relationships with students, families, administration, co-workers, and the community.
Essential Functions Provides leadership assistance to the Chief Academic Officer in all facets of the school division's development, promotion, and implementation of the school division's academic priorities, academic curriculum, objectives, and improvement efforts.
Coordinates and supervises the instructional coaching program.
Coordinates the professional development program for the school division.
Including maintaining the database where professional development recertification points are housed.
Effectively analyzes data and information to guide continuous improvement.
Leads the coordination and planning for our New Staff Orientation as well as the professional development program for new teachers.
Coordinates the mentor program and provides training and support to mentors.
Coordinates and oversees the tuition reimbursement program.
Coordinates and serves as the point of contact for Home Instruction.
Assists in the development and delivery of professional learning opportunities for instructional staff.
Has knowledge of best practices to positively impact student achievement including providing professional learning and support to staff.
Provides in-service training and ongoing coaching to empower staff, specifically new teachers, and build teacher capacity with effective instruction.
Has the ability to maintain confidentiality Models professional, moral, and ethical standards as well as personal integrity in all interactions, including non-discriminatory and cultural inclusion practices by respecting the worth, dignity, and individual beliefs of others.
Takes all industry-standard precautions to protect students, staff, equipment, materials, and facilities.
Maintains appropriate state licensure; assumes responsibility for and participates in staff development (professional growth) and training to keep materials, supplies, and skills up-to-date.
Follows appropriate safety procedures and properly maintains equipment.
Actively participates in and attends all required meetings.
Maintains confidentiality when appropriate.
Complies with and supports school division policies, regulations, procedures, and the HCPS Strategic Plan.
Effectively performs other duties as assigned by the Chief Academic Officer.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Light work, lifting up to 25 pounds occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds frequently.
Regular travel throughout the school and effectively interact with students, staff, and community members.
Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities; and subject to inside and outside environmental conditions.
Occasional travel with students on field trips as necessary.
Attendance at evening and weekend student or staff activities, Parent Teacher Organization meetings, and other functions, as required.
Regular contact with staff members and parents/guardians is required.
Not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
