Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant is expected to develop a working knowledge of requisite software and internal work flow/procedures. s/he has a direct responsibility for preparing journal entries and posting to the General Ledger, cash accounting including receipts and bank reconciliation, and producing various accounting and financial reports. Assist with managing the accounting team.
Duties &
Responsibilities:
Assist in monthly close process
Provide backup for AR, AP, Payroll, and HR
Assist in inventory analysis
Daily cash balancing
Assist with project requests from management
Ensure that all general ledger accounts are reconciled to subsidiary records on a monthly basis
Review reconciliations to ensure that they are prepared properly and follow-up on any unusual items
Oversee, in conjunction with independent auditor, preparation of annual audit
Prepares invoice
Posts cash receipts.
Assists with annual audit
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors Accounting degree
3 to 5 Years' experience in accounting in a business setting
Full knowledge of GL with an understanding of balance sheet versus P&L
A complete understanding of AP and AR
Strong Excel experience is needed
Solid history working with reconciliations, accruals, general allocations, journal entries, month-end/year-end closing
Strong communication skills - verbal and written
